A SEX offender has been caught in possession of indecent images of children on a 'custom-built' computer at his Port Glasgow home.
Andrew Fabiani downloaded the illegal material onto his PC during a period spanning 11 months between December 2021 and October last year.
Police seized the computer after swooping on 43-year-old Fabiani's home at dawn as part of an intelligence-led operation.
Prosecutor Maria Murdoch told Greenock Sheriff Court that officers attended at the address with a search warrant at 7.35am on October 22 last year.
Fiscal depute Ms Murdoch said: “A systematic search was carried out.
“During the search, a custom-built PC was seized.
“This was analysed by the cybercrime team and six images were found.”

Fabiani appeared from custody to plead guilty to possession of indecent photographs or psuedo photographs of children.
He also admitted to breaching a sheriff court bail order on seven occasions.
Fabiani had been instructed to attend at Greenock police office to 'sign-on' every Tuesday and Saturday when granted bail last November but repeatedly failed to adhere to the condition just weeks later.
Fabiani’s defence solicitor said her client was ‘utterly appalled at being responsible for this type of offence’.
She added: “He is completely disgusted with himself.
“He offered to plead guilty to this almost right away I have to say. We had to wait for cybercrime reports.
“For this amount of images - albeit it’s absolutely appalling the offence Mr Fabiani has pleaded guilty to - a custodial sentence is not inevitable.”
The lawyer made an application for bail, noting that he had previously been released prior to the breaches.
Sheriff James Varney refused the motion, ruling that Fabiani is 'not a suitable candidate', and further remanded him in custody.
Sentencing has been deferred until October 4 to allow for the preparation of a background report and electronic tagging assessment.
