THE Disney Dream cruise ship that docked at Greenock Ocean Terminal yesterday brought a total of 4,000 people to Inverclyde.
The 18-deck ship that reaches nearly 1,115ft in length was the latest visitor to the district during what has been described by ocean terminal operators Peel Ports as a 'record year'.
Among an array of features, Disney Dream boasts a nine-hole mini-golf court, a full-sized basketball court, 'several' pools and hot tubs and two theatres.
It also has the first 'water coaster at sea'well as a 'water coaster' called The AquaDuck - a 233-metre-long winding waterslide with a four-deck drop and a course that winds over the edge of the ship and through the ship's forward funnel.
Disney Dream's visit follows the opening of the new £20m cruise ship visitor centre last month - a project that is expected to provide a £26m boost to the Scottish economy with more than 70 jobs having been created.
Jim McSporran, Clydeport Port Director at Peel Ports said: “Thousands of passengers and crew from around the world have already been enjoying the facilities, and we’re excited to add Disney Dream guests to this list."
