A GREENOCK man has been charged with driving while more than eight times over the legal limit for cocaine on New Year's Day.
Mark Lapsley, of Grant Street, is said to have had 407mcg of the cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine per litre of blood whilst behind the wheel of a vehicle on January 1 this year.
The legal limit is 50mcg.
The 24-year-old is also charged with being in possession of cannabis on Dalrymple Street on the same date.
The matter has been continued without plea through lawyer Gerry Keenan at the sheriff court and is set to call again on October 13.
