THOUSANDS of Inverclyde residents are set to receive a cash boost through the latest cost-of-living payment being provided by the UK Government.
A £300 grant will be paid automatically into the bank accounts of those struggling with the cost-of-living between October 31 and November 19.
Pensioners eligible for these means-tested benefit payments will get an additional £300 later in the year, as well as their Winter Fuel Payment.
The UK Government’s statistics show that this will benefit 13,500 households in Inverclyde.
The payment is automatic, so there is no need to apply if you are eligible, and it is part of a cost-of-living package worth £900 in total.
MSP Jamie Greene said: “I warmly welcome that the UK Government is providing a further £300 in cost-of-living payments to the most vulnerable in Inverclyde.
“The economic outlook continues to be tough for many people, so this will be a big help for thousands of households in Inverclyde struggling with their bills."
