A FORMER Inverclyde councillor has had his trial for alleged threatening or abusive behaviour pushed back until later this year.
Christopher McEleny, general secretary of former first minister Alex Salmond's Alba Party, is charged with shouting, swearing and repeatedly kicking and banging the door of a Greenock flat two years ago.
The 37-year-old is also said to have acted aggressively towards a man at the Kelly Street property and maliciously forced the door, causing damage to its handle.

McEleny, who was leader of the council's SNP group, denies the charges.
A summary trial before Sheriff Morag Fraser got under way in June, however, the procurator fiscal depute involved was 'unavailable' to continue the case this week.
Matters have been adjourned until November.
