FUNDRAISERS organised in honour of a much-missed local man have generated more than £5,000 in his memory.
Award-winning basketball coach Bob Taft passed away in February following a short and brave battle with cancer.
Bob's niece Gillian O'Neill organised a charity night at Cruden Hall and Gillian's husband Mick O'Neill joined Bob's nephews, Stewart Taft and Martin Orr, on a five-day trek along the West Highland Way.
Together, the fundraisers brought in £5,200, with the money split evenly between Jericho House in Greenock and Accord Hospice in Paisley.
Gillian said: "The guys did an amazing job on the West Highland Way and we had a great turnout at the charity night as well and businesses from all over Inverclyde donated fantastic prizes.
"We want to thank everyone who supported us and helped these two amazing charities in memory of my uncle Bob."
