SCHOOL support staff are out in force on the picket line in Inverclyde this morning as their pay row rages on.
Unison members have started a three-day strike in the district and within 24 local authorities across Scotland.
Nicola Hendry, a pupil support assistant, joined colleagues on the picket line outside Notre Dame High School this morning.
She said: “I think we should be entitled to a wee pay rise for what we do.
“We want to see better pay, rather than what they were trying to get us to accept.”

Unite and GMB Scotland were also due to take part, but their strikes were suspended on Friday in order to put a new pay offer to members.
Unison rejected the improved offer from COSLA and proceeded with industrial action, which will see Inverclyde schools closed until Friday.
The union said the offer was ‘too little, too late’.
