A RACIST Greenock lout who branded former Scotland international cricketer Majid Haq a 'cheating P**i' before telling him it was a statement of 'fact' has avoided jail today.
Ronald McGregor, 64, shouted out the disgusting slur in response to a decision against Greenock Cricket Club during a home match against Stenhousemuir in August.
When ex-player Mr Haq approached him during a break in play about what he'd said, McGregor told him that the vile insult was a 'factual term'.
McGregor, of West Blackhall Street, has been fined £420 at Greenock Sheriff Court today and allowed to pay the penalty at £10 per week.
