DRIVERS have been warned of a change to the layout of roadworks on the A8 through Greenock.
Scottish Water is urging motorists to take note of the latest update in the £2.5 million flood alleviation project, which has seen traffic restrictions in place since the beginning of the year.
Currently, a contraflow system means both lanes of traffic use the westbound carriageway on East Hamilton Street.
However, the utility company has advised that this will soon change to a single lane on each side of the road while work continues in the central reservation.
ALL CHANGE: We will soon be working in a different lane on the A8 to deliver our £2.5million flood alleviation project for #Greenock in @inverclyde. The road will still be open – it will just look a bit different. https://t.co/wTvKoFGVRJ pic.twitter.com/o7ksxNzoUK

The project, aimed at addressing persistent flooding issues on the main route into the town, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
A new combined sewer overflow is being installed beneath Inverclyde Council's Pottery Street depot and the local sewer network is being upgraded.
