LADY bowlers paid tribute to a late friend with a special fun day of matches.
The Greenock & District Ladies organised a charity wappenschaw in aid of the Beatson in remembrance of much-missed official Anna Seggie, who was the match secretary. It was held at Fort Matilda BC and around 60 players took to the green.
The fun day raised the sum of £1,000, which was handed over to a representative from Beatson Cancer Research.
All the players were served with afternoon tea and a home baking stall helped boost the total along with a very successful raffle.
Fort Matilda vice president Mairi Mills presented the cheque to Maisie McCormick, community fundraising manager of the Beatson.
The organisers say they want to thank everyone who contributed to a wonderful day in Anna’s memory.
