TERRIFIC trekkers broke a record as they raised more than £4,000 for charity in support of a Greenock dad and his family.
Members of Whinhill Golf Club, along with their friends and family, walked 11.4 miles from the club to Largs town centre on September 10.
Sponsorship and donations generated an impressive £4,149, which will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
It's the largest amount raised from the club's annual sponsored walk.
Walkers decided to give the money to the charity in support of Chris Jones, son of club member Chris Jones senior, and his family.
Chris was 32 when he found out he had cystic fibrosis, and his beautiful baby twins Orlaith and Elijah were born with the condition.
Organiser Gary Havlin said 32 people took part in the walk.
He added: "We're thrilled to have raised this amount of money for such a great charity.
"The walk encourages us all to exercise while raising money for good causes.
"We want to thank Inverclyde Leisure for kindly providing us with a bus back to the club, and for providing food and drink on the day."
