MP Ronnie Cowan is urging people to have their say on the proposed new rail timetable for Inverclyde.
The ScotRail plan would replace the controversial reduced-service schedule which has been in place since May.
The proposals involve two 'fast trains' each hour on the Gourock line and extra services from Wemyss Bay to Glasgow.
The consultation will run until November 20.
Mr Cowan said: “Having met with ScotRail representatives to discuss the new timetable proposals for Inverclyde, I’m pleased to learn there will be an increase in train journeys for both the Gourock and Wemyss Bay lines.
“The proposal of two fast trains an hour servicing Gourock to Glasgow is welcomed, alongside the introduction of a half hourly service on the Wemyss Bay line.
"This will involve an extra 30 journeys a day across both lines and I was pleased to hear that the timetable had been worked up after consultation with Caledonian McBrayne.
“This is direct investment from the Scottish Government and will also see the recruiting and training of more drivers to deliver the much needed rail services for Inverclyde.
"I would urge those who use our rail network, alongside interested stakeholders, to respond to ScotRail’s consultation, to make their views known."
