EDUCATION bosses say they will update parents after a union called another strike which will affect local schools and nurseries.

Unison has announced that its support staff members will walk out of work on Wednesday November 1 as a row over a payrise offer continues.

Schools were closed for three days last month by the dispute.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: "If the strike goes ahead, it is highly likely that the schools and early years centres affected by the previous strike will also be affected on 1 November.

"Schools and early years centre will undertake a risk assessment on their return from the October break to confirm the specific arrangements in place."
