WORK is under way to demolish an old Port Glasgow school which was gutted by a fire.
A blaze ripped through the derelict Clune Park Primary at the end of August, leaving it a burnt-out shell.
The B-Listed building, which sits in the middle of the run-down Clune Park estate, had been closed since 2008 and it fell into a state of disrepair before being targeted by vandals and firestarters.

On the night of the fire flames could be seen from miles around and at one point 30 firefighters were at the scene battling the blaze.
The historic building is now being flattened as it poses a danger.
Many people in the community have been left saddened by the fate of their old school.
Provost Drew McKenzie, speaking at the time of the fire, said 'it was a sad day for the town'.
He said: "There are so many local people who went to that school and are emotionally attached to it.
"The building has been empty for a long time.
"It is unfortunate that the school was targeted, perhaps there could have been some regeneration of the building."
A section of the road has been cordoned off to allow the work to be carried out.
