A GREENOCK man charged with endangering police officers at Inverclyde Royal Hospital is set to go on trial at the sheriff court early next year.
Patrick Duffy is accused of being in possession of a bladed or pointed article at the A&E department on December 2 last year.
The 45-year-old allegedly failed to disclose a sharp rod to police officers who were carrying out a search of him, and it is claimed that he ‘did thus endanger them to injury’.
He is also accused of breaching a court bail order made in December 2022 by allegedly failing to sign in at Greenock police office every Monday and Friday on seven separate occasions between January and July this year.
Duffy's solicitor, Aidan Gallagher, maintained his client's not guilty pleas to the nine indictment charges at the latest calling of the case on October 31.
Sheriff James Spy continued the case to a trial on January 30 and Duffy's bail was continued.
