INVERCLYDE fell silent in solemn reflection and respect today as the community came together to honour The Fallen.
Parades took place across the district amid tranquil and sunny autumnal weather.
Provost Drew McKenzie said: “This is a hugely important time of year to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
“The names on the war memorials throughout our towns and villages represent the life of someone from our community that was lost in battle.
“Many more suffered serious and life-changing injuries during various conflicts and we also remember their sacrifices."
A Remembrance Sunday eight-page pull out will be included with tomorrow's print edition of the Telegraph.
