POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fire was deliberately set within a common close in Greenock last weekend.
Police Scotland has issued an appeal for information following the reported wilful fireraising incident at 59 Cathcart Street between 8pm on Friday, November 10 and 9am on Saturday morning.
Officers were not called out at the time and the blaze was extinguished by a member of the public.

Police say there were no reports of any injuries.
