AN assault accused man has been charged with dragging an alleged victim along a Greenock footpath after aggressively confronting them.
Patrick McGuinness allegedly acted in a threatening and aggressive manner by shouting and swearing at the person, whose identity is unknown to prosecutors.
It is claimed that McGuinness, 53, assaulted the person when he grabbed and dragged them by the neck and body at a footpath near his home on Nelson Street.
A third charge alleges that he uttered threats of violence towards two male police officers during the same alleged incident on July 20.
The charges have been denied and the case has been continued to a further pre-trial hearing at the sheriff court on December 5.
