GREENOCK-BORN MSP Jamie Greene has been crowned best debater at the Scottish Politician Of The Year Awards.
The Conservative was named winner of the prestigious Donald Dewar memorial award at last night's bash, held at Prestonfield House.
Mr Greene says he feels 'honoured' to claim the prize, won last year by Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar.
He was nominated alongside Fergus Ewing, Michael Marra and former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Mr Greene said: There is a huge wealth of talent across the benches at Holyrood, so I’m incredibly honoured to be recognised alongside a host of deserving colleagues.”
Mr Greene has forged a reputation at Holyrood for pressing ministers on local ferry services and contributing to debates on topics such as road safety and island community welfare.
He said: “Representing the people of west Scotland, where I was born and raised, is nothing short of an honour, and I’m humbled to be recognised for my contributions to the many important debates we participate in at Holyrood."
