POLICE have charged a 25-year-old man in connection with the death of Michael Beaton in Greenock.
Mr Beaton, 35, was found with serious injuries on Drumfrochar Road around 7.20pm on November 26.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died a few hours later.
Officers confirmed yesterday that they had arrested a 25-year-old in connection with Mr Beaton's death.
Police established a large cordon at the scene following Mr Beaton’s death, with parts of Drumfrochar Road and Cornhaddock Street sealed off.
Forensics officers were later spotted combing the scene and the nearby St Patrick’s Primary school was closed for two days after the incident.
Police say that the 25-year-old is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.
