THREE men armed with a machete leapt over a garden fence and placed a woman in a state of fear, it is alleged.
Accused Dennis Morgan, 31, Kieran Murphy, 30, and an unknown accomplice had their faces covered during the alleged incident at Nevis Road, prosecutors claim.
The pair allegedly entered the rear garden of the property and climbed over fences whilst the other male was in possession of a bladed implement.
Morgan, Murphy, and the unknown man then masked their faces and produced a machete-type knife, according to court papers.
Morgan, of Tasker Street, is said to have been subject to a bail order made in August 2021 at the time of the alleged incident last year.
Murphy, of nearby Walker Street, is also charged with being in possession of a knife without reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Both men have pleaded not guilty.
Defence solicitor Aidan Gallagher lodged a special defence of alibi on Morgan's behalf when the case called at Greenock Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Robert Carr scheduled a trial for February 19 next year and bail has been continued for both accused.
