STAFF from the Abbey Vet practice in Greenock got on their bikes to help cycle 340 miles to help cancer patients.
Vets, nurses and receptionists raised £3,500 for the Beatson Cancer Charity by taking on a sponsored nine-hour cyclathon along with their colleagues from Paisley.
The team had initially hoped to cover 168 miles and raise £1,000 but smashed those targets thanks to a lot of sweat, tears and pedal power, covering the distance from Glasgow to Inverness and back again.
Chris Richardson, Abbey Vets practice manager, said: “The team really went the extra mile, quite literally, to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity, which does an incredible job in caring for and supporting people with cancer.
“Everyone involved wanted to support the charity to give something back, as they understand how isolating people can feel following a diagnosis, whether for an animal or a human. It was a fantastic effort all round."
