A GREENOCK care home was praised during a visit by Scotland's chief nursing officer.
Merino Court played host to Professor Alex McMahon alongside Arelene Mailey, service manager at the local health and social care partnership, and Laura Moore, the area's chief nurse.
Residents and colleagues of the HC-One owned care home met the trio and spoke to them about life at the home.
HC-One’s nursing director Liz Richards provided a tour of the 60-bed establishment, which offers nursing and nursing dementia care.
Professor McMahon said: "It was a pleasure to walk around the home and to speak to some of the staff and residents.
“I hope the link that has now been made with the chief nurse for Inverclyde will not only serve well in terms of Merino Court, but also the wider connections through Laura and the other chief nurses in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area.”
Maxine Smedley, managing director of HC-One Scotland, said: “I was grateful for the time Professor McMahon spent at Merino Court and the conversation around the care and nursing workforce.
"I am very proud of the services offered locally and this was an excellent opportunity to show how Merino Court and HC-One Scotland have developed high level of services for the people in the area."
