A GREENOCK man has been charged with assault and robbery after a pensioner allegedly had cash stolen from him on Christmas Eve.
Gary McGill is accused of grabbing and pushing a 66-year-old alleged victim at an ATM on Kilblain Street before 'robbing him of a quantity of money'.
It is claimed McGill, 43, approached the man at a cash machine outside a newsagent's on December 24 before making off with the cash.
According to court papers, the accused committed the alleged offence while subject to a bail order made in November for a separate matter.
McGill, of Dempster Street, appeared from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday and made no plea to the charge through solicitor Aidan Gallagher.
He was granted bail and the case was continued for further examination. He is due to return to court within the next seven days.
