WORK to remove diseased trees will be carried out at two locations in Inverclyde today.
Inverclyde Council says trees affected by Ash dieback will be felled at Well Park in Greenock and Gourock’s Divert Glen.
The disease has already caused widespread damage in continental Europe and is now affecting woodlands throughout the UK.
The Woodland Trust anticipates it will lead to the loss of ‘significant ash populations’ across the country and says it will have a ‘devastating impact’ on landscapes and biodiversity.
