MOTORISTS from Inverclyde are being warned about lane closures and speed restrictions on the A8 due to an essential maintenance project.
Upgrades are set to be carried out on the dual carriageway between Woodhall and Langbank, beginning on Monday January 15.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be working on the stretch up until March 8, with construction works being undertaken during daylight hours.
Teams will be improving the VRS vehicle restraint barriers.
The operator says the scheme will benefit around 28,000 vehicles using the route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using 24-hour offside lane closures and a temporary 50mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the work.
Amey said: "We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place."
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
