A LARKFIELD man has been jailed after he fell asleep at his girlfriend's house and failed to wake up in time to comply with a court-ordered curfew.
Jamie McLaughlin, of Angus Road, pleaded guilty to the bail breach charge through solicitor Gerry Keenan when he appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.
The 24-year-old was granted bail on August 3, 2022 and made subject to an 8pm-7am curfew, however, he breached it at Regent Court in Roxburgh Street on Boxing Day 2022 by being outwith his address during the restricted hours.
McLaughlin handed himself in to police on December 27 that year.
His lawyer said he had spent the previous day at his partner's home with the intention of returning but fell asleep and missed the cut-off.
Sheriff Anthony McGeehan sentenced him to one month of imprisonment.
