SCOTTISH Water has warned of changes to the layout of roadworks on the A8 through Greenock.
Work is currently being carried out on East Hamilton Street as part of a £2.5million project in a bid to alleviate flooding.
Currently, motorists are following a contraflow system using both lanes on the eastbound carriageway.
🛑 🚧 🚗 ALL CHANGE: We will soon be working in the central reservation of the A8 to deliver our £2.5million flood alleviation project for #Greenock in @inverclyde. The road will still be open – it will just look a bit different. https://t.co/wTvKoFGVRJ pic.twitter.com/tAuMc9H5S5

Scottish Water says it will be soon be working on the road’s central reservation, meaning traffic will use a single lane on either side.
The utility company’s work to increase the capacity of the local sewer network was initially due to be completed in late 2023.
