ROADS repair outfit Amey are to carry out essential drainage improvements on the A78 at Wemyss Bay which will cause a road closure and see temporary traffic lights installed.
The work will be at the Shore Road junction, starting on Monday January 22 and running until Friday February 16.
There will be two-way temporary traffic lights at Shore Road and a full closure of Wemyss Bay Road at the junction with A78.
Local traffic wishing to access Wemyss Bay Road will follow a signed diversion route that will take road users along Kishorn Road, Lomond Road, Castle Road and Undercliff Road.
Since autumn last year Amey has widened footways and enhanced crossings at the Ardgowan Road junction and resurfaced the mainline trunk road carriageway and introduced better road linings on the A78.
It says the drainage improvements are the latest part of this wider package of improvements and will benefit around 11,700 vehicles using this route each day.
