WATER supply has now been restored in Greenock after a frozen valve caused an interruption this morning.
Scottish Water reported that it was investigating a problem in the PA16 area earlier today.
A spokesperson for the supplier said: “Our teams have completed work to defrost the valve and are now in the process of recharging the water network to restore customer supplies.
"We estimate it will take between one to two hours for all customers to have their water supply restored.
"The water supply will gradually come in to service for customers during this period."
Last week, around 12,000 properties were affected by a supply problem cause by a burst main at Whinhill Primary School.
Water was seen gushing down from the school grounds, with emergency teams swinging into action and working through the night to repair the pipe.
