A SHOPLIFTING accused woman is said to have tried to avoid a theft conviction by giving a fake name to police following her apprehension.
Prosecutors claim Elizabeth McClure stole a selection of groceries and household items from The Range in Greenock on January 26 last year while she was subject to a court bail order.
McClure, 51, is alleged to have provided a false name to officers with intent to pervert the course of justice.
The Broomhill Way resident is due to stand trial on the matters on June 19.
