Braveheart boys and girls at Craigmarloch School donned tartan and enjoyed storytime in Scots to mark Burns Day.
Pupils in Primary 2/3A welcomed special visitors, including parent Martin Beer from the Burns Club, who read The Gruffalo in Scots.
They were also joined by Madam Pauline Hunter, Chief of Clan Hunter, and her husband Graham Wright, Macer Venatorus, of Hunterston.
Mr Beer said: "It's always good to be included. We don't do Burns enough in schools. It's always a delight to read a book to youngsters in the Scots language."
Mr Wright told the Telegraph: "We were invited by the Burns Club. It is absolutely brilliant to see enjoy themselves and celebrate Burns Day.
"We are trying to visit as many schools as we can all over Scotland."
Teacher Kathleen Tarbet said: "The children have really enjoyed it. They have been learning the Gruffalo in Scots for a few weeks and learned a dance, the Military Two Step, which they did very well."
