A GREENOCK man has been charged with running away from two police officers at Morrisons and attempting to discard a quantity of cannabis in a bush.
Michael Beaton, 41, is alleged to have had the class B drug in his possession on Cross Shore Street on Halloween last year.
The charge alleges that Beaton intentionally obstructed two police officers and struggled with them.
It is further stated that the Gael Street resident made off from the officers and attempted to discard a quantity of cannabis in a bus at the Dellingburn Street supermarket.
Prosecutors say Beaton committed the alleged offence while on bail.
The matter has been continued without plea until February 23.
