AN award-winning broadcaster and journalist is bringing her new, sold-out film focused on Scottish independence to Greenock next weekend.
Lesley Riddoch, who will give a talk after the screening of Denmark - the State of Happiness at the Beacon, is a current columnist for The National and previous assistant editor of The Scotsman.
She has also appeared in programmes on BBC2, Channel 4, Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland and is taking her latest production on a 10-stop tour of the country's towns and cities.
The local event, at 2pm on Saturday, February 10, has been funded by volunteer campaigners Yes Inverclyde and the 125 tickets available were snapped up quickly.
Lesley said: “The audience is turning up for inspiration, a vision, and a picture of the kind of state we could create with hard work here in Scotland – one that supports cooperation, local initiative and a progressive welfare state.
"Politics is too often a stale slanging match, but that doesn’t mean Scots have given up on a better future.”
