THE Scottish Liberal Democrats have announced their Inverclyde candidate for the next general election.
Ross Stalker will contest the new Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West seat, which will take in Houston, Crosslee and Bridge of Weir.
As he was unveiled he described the upcoming election as a ‘critical juncture’ and said he would fight for a fair deal for people across the constituency.
Mr Stalker, who ran in Renfrewshire North and West in 2021, added: “After 13 years of Conservative government, this election is an opportunity for the change we desperately need.
“As those who followed my last election campaign will know, I have a particular interest in mental health.
"I recently experienced first-hand what can happen when government takes its eye off the ball when I was impacted by the shortage in ADHD medication.

"We need a government that cares enough to get things right for everyone.
“I want to fight for a fair deal for people across Renfrewshire. That means real action on the cost of living, real action on climate change and water pollution, and real action to clean up our politics.
“We have had 13 years of the Conservatives trashing our economy, wrecking our trading relationship with Europe, and robbing from the poor to feed the rich, as well as 16 years of the SNP mismanaging our public services.
“It’s time for change, and that means backing me as your Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate in Inverclyde & Renfrewshire West.”

Lib Dem leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said: “Ross is a fantastic candidate and really cares about the local area.
"The Scottish Liberal Democrats have seen a huge resurgence in recent years, showing that we can take seats off both the Conservatives and the SNP.
"By lending Ross your support, Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West can have that strong Lib Dem representation in Parliament
“Scottish Liberal Democrats are resilient and we will keep fighting for our communities, so even if you’ve never voted Lib Dem before, take a chance on Ross in the General Election, and see what we can do for you.”
