A DRIVE-through Greggs cafe near a busy Greenock street is just weeks away from opening, the Tele can reveal.
Bosses at the popular bakery chain have confirmed that the finishing touches are now being put on the £1.5m hot food and drink outlet, which has been under construction at the corner of Cartsburn Street and Rue End Street since last year.
An exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, however, much of the building's exterior is complete, with the final works underway.
Developers Dalglen Ltd, an investment vehicle owned by billionaire brothers Sandy and James Easdale, had plans for a drive-through coffee shop on the site approved in October 2021.
The development area was purchased from Scottish Enterprise in 2018.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs is due to open a new drive-thru shop in Greenock within the next few weeks.
"We will be able to share further details with you closer to the opening.”
