A GREENOCK alt-rock band are set to headline a hometown venue next month after being selected for a national youth music touring project.
Home For Joy were among hundreds of groups and musicians who applied for the Hit The Road initiative, which is now in its 10th season.
The project gives young people aged 14-19 the chance to tour their music, gain industry experience and connect with new audiences and professionals.
Launched in 2013, Hit The Road has supported aspiring young musicians across the country, offering a platform for growth, networking and artistic expression.
Home For Joy, who take inspiration from the likes of Radiohead and Muse, will join Low Tide from Edinburgh and Dundee’s Adam and the Observers on tour next month.
Each act will top the bill at a venue in their home town and Home For Joy’s headline gig will be held at the Beacon Arts Centre on March 30.
The tour follows the release of the band's first single Chapstick, which came out in January.
Hit The Road project manager Michael Cassidy said: “We’re so excited to be bringing Hit the Road to Greenock this spring with the incredible Home For Joy as our headliner.
“The standard of talent among everyone who applied this year was exceptionally high so it was a tough choice but we couldn’t be happier with our line up for the March tour.
“We hope everyone involved has a great experience touring with Hit the Road.
“It would be fantastic to see a full house at Beacon Arts next month to support our amazing performers.”
Tickets for the concert are available now at beaconartscentre.co.uk.
