AN Inverclyde band say they created ‘memories that will last forever’ celebrating Scotland’s Six Nations win over England with thousands at Murrayfield.

The Laurettes performed for rugby fans after Gregor Townsend’s squad secured a 30-21 victory to retain the Calcutta Cup last Saturday.

Lauren O’Donoghue and Lynette Beaton have become a regular fixture at Murrayfield in recent years, entertaining crowds before and after matches.

Greenock Telegraph:

Fans danced along to the band’s own tunes outside Murrayfield after the victory over England, as well as renditions of Scottish stadium anthems such as Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.

Lynette said: “This is our eighth gig at Murrayfield stadium and it was one of the best we’ve ever played.

“The crowd were incredible and stayed dancing with us right until the end.

“The most incredible thing is to look out and see a sea of people going so far back you can’t see where it ends.

“Everyone was jumping and dancing to our set - memories that will last forever!”

The Laurettes look set to enjoy one of their busiest years yet, with their debut album 'Meet Me at the Mainstage' being released on March 9.

The pair have already confirmed performances at a number of music festivals this summer, including HebCelt in Stornoway - which will be headlined by James.
