CLOSURES will be in place on a section of the A8 through Port Glasgow from next week as essential resurfacing works get under way.
Amey will carry out works between Newark Roundabout and Kelburn between March 11 and 18.
The resurfacing will be completed using a combination of overnight closures and daytime lane closures.
The work will be split into two phases. The first phase, due to be completed by March 14, will see a closure of the eastbound carriageway between Newark Roundabout and Woodhall Roundabout from 8pm to 6am.
During these times, traffic will be diverted via the A761 Clune Brae and Glasgow Road to rejoin the A8 at Woodhall Roundabout.

Traffic management will be removed by 6am on March 15.
Phase two will take place from March 15-18, using a closure of part of Newark Roundabout and the A761 Clune Brae junction from 8pm to 6am.
Traffic will be controlled by temporary lights, with drivers headed for Clune Brae being diverted from Woodhall Roundabout along Glasgow Road.
There will be an additional daytime lane closure on the westbound carriageway on March 11 to set up the necessary traffic management.
Daytime lane closures will be in place on both carriageways on March 18 to stand down the works.
Amey says the resurfacing is weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are not favourable.
