A WOMAN charged with swallowing suspected drugs and trying to run away from police officers during a search in Greenock is set to stand trial later this year.
Catriona Paterson is accused of intentionally obstructing two constables and refusing to cooperate with a search under Misuse of Drugs Act legislation.
It is claimed that the 37-year-old ingested an item believed to be controlled drugs and attempted to make off on foot from the PCs.
The alleged offence is said to have been committed at John Wilson Street on May 24 last year.
Paterson, of Weir Street, pleaded not guilty through solicitor David Tod at a court hearing last week and a trial has been scheduled for July 16.
