A popular detective drama filmed in Inverclyde is returning to the BBC for a further two seasons.
Shetland, starring Ashley Jensen and Alison O'Donnell, will return to our screens for a ninth and tenth season.
Filming is set to get underway later this month with Jensen and O'Donnell reprising their roles as Detectives Ruth Calder and Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh.
The last season of the show averaged seven million viewers and was the first to feature Jensen in the leading role, after replacing Douglas Henshall as Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez.
Though set on the islands which give the series its name, many scenes from the show have been filmed in Inverclyde over the years - with the latest having been recorded last summer.
Crews were spotted on the Esplanade last June and filming also took place last April on Old Largs Road, near the boundaries of North Ayrshire and Inverclyde, and on Bay Street in Port Glasgow.
The show has also previously filmed across South Ayrshire, as well as at Irvine Beach in the north of the authority.
The show is based on the books of the same name, created by author Ann Cleeves.
