GREENOCK’S Martin Compston will take to the pitch for a good cause once again this summer as he joins the 2024 Soccer Aid line-up.
The actor and former footballer, who was on Morton's books as a youngster, is no stranger to the World XI side, having taken part in the major UNICEF fundraising effort on several occasions since 2018.
Martin joined the coaching team for last year's event - helping his side secure a fifth consecutive win.
This year, he will join the likes of Usain Bolt, Eden Hazard, Lee Mack and Tommy Fury at Stamford Bridge on June 9.
The World XI – led by Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino – will face an England side featuring stars such as Jill Scott, Stuart Broad, Jermain Defoe, and Sir Mo Farah.
England will be managed by Harry Redknapp, Robbie Williams and Frank Lampard.
The live show will be hosted by UNICEF UK ambassador Dermot O’Leary, who will be joined by presenter and former footballer Alex Scott.
Soccer Aid says that more stars will be announced soon.
