A POWER cut affected large parts of Greenock and Gourock today and shut down sheriff court business this morning.
Scottish Power confirmed the outage shortly before 11am on Tuesday and the energy company said it had 'no advance warning' of the problem.
A post shared online said: "There is a power cut affecting the PA16 and PA19 postcode area of Greenock and Gourock.
"We had no advance warning of this and first became aware of it at 10.44am.
"Our control centre will attempt to restore your electricity supply remotely, and our engineers are en route to the area to find and fix the fault as quickly and as safely as possible."
Cases due to call at Greenock Sheriff Court, on Nelson Street, have been delayed after the building lost power at around 11am.
SP Energy Networks say they expect the power to be restored by 12.45pm.
The notice added: "We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
An update at around 12 noon stated that the fault had been resolved and power has now been restored.
