A GREENOCK man who flouted a court order to stay away from a woman within hours of the directive being imposed has been given a 'second chance' to comply.
Brian Millar, 40, had been allowed bail on condition he did not approach or contact the female in any way - then police found him within her home.
Officers had gone to the address to inform the woman of the bail order after Millar had been allowed his liberty last Friday.
He was arrested at around 8.30pm that evening.
Millar, of Kilblain Court, was also charged with lying to the police about his identity, however, his not guilty plea to this allegation was accepted by the Crown.
He also stated to officers that he had been asked to care for children while the woman was at work, the court heard.
Defence solicitor Aidan Gallagher said his client is a man who ‘ordinarily stays out of trouble’.
Mr Gallagher added: “As a consequence of this ill-advised decision, he found himself in custody on Friday evening.

“He accepts that the court imposes such conditions for a reason and it’s the court that decides whether that order remains in place or not.”
Sheriff McGeehan told Millar: “You will recall, because I can certainly recall, I walked you through the conditions of bail – including the special conditions.
“I told you what would happen. Low and behold, you failed to comply.
“To describe that as a disappointment would be an understatement.
“I’m prepared to give you a second chance – but Mr Millar understand that it is a second chance. I won’t accept any further excuses.
“If you breach supervised bail now you will have no further chances given to you by this court.”
Millar was released on supervised bail, with his sentencing being deferred until April 16.
