FRIENDS of a Greenock dad-of-two living with an incurable condition will host a fundraiser for his family this weekend – with Morton striker George Oakley pitching in to support the effort.
Danny Tonner was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) at the age of 31.
The former chef, who ran restaurants all over Scotland, is now confined to a wheelchair as a result of the condition.
Last year, friends of Danny’s took on a fundraising challenge which saw them climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in Wales within 24 hours.
Now, the group are to host charity football match at Parklea at 3pm on Saturday to raise money for Danny and his family, followed by a race night at Bullseye’s Sports Bar at 7.30pm.
We've received an incredible donation of a Signed 23-24 Morton Home Top from George Oakley which we plan to auction off.
