A DOUBLE assault accused man has been charged with attacking a pensioner on a Greenock street in an alleged mob-handed assault.
Brandon Scott is to have acted along with others - whose identities are currently unknown to prosecutors - in the alleged incident on April 27, 2022.
It is claimed that Scott and the unidentified group threatened a 76-year-old man on Roxburgh Way before pushing him to the ground and repeatedly punching and kicking him on the head and body.
A second assault charge claims that Scott, 25, shouted a threat of violence at another man and repeatedly punched him to the head and body.
That alleged victim was grabbed by his clothing, causing him to fall to the ground, before a slate, or similar item, was thrown at him, it is claimed.
Solicitor Amy Spencer told Greenock Sheriff Court that 'numerous difficulties' have arisen over witness evidence and the trial has been adjourned until October 2.
