TWO Inverclyde establishments are in the running to be named the best pub in Scotland after reaching the final shortlist for a national prizegiving ceremony.
A total of four venues in the district have been announced as finalists in the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards, with a glitzy bash in Glasgow set to decide the winners in May.
The Caledonian Bar in Port Glasgow and The Horseshoe Bar in Greenock are competing for the Best Pub title, while the former is also up for Best Beer Selection, Best Team and Best Independent Bar in the West.
The Green Oak, on Inverkip Street, is also up for Best Independent Bar in the West, and The Horseshoe is a finalist in the Best Sports Bar category.
Meanwhile, One Bruce Street in Greenock is shortlisted for Best Newcomer and Best Casual Dining Venue.
The winners will be announced at an event at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Glasgow on May 16.
