AN inspirational young Gourock woman has spoken about her battle with cancer as part of a new podcast which aims to help other young people.
Molly Cuddihy, who was diagnosed with metastatic Ewing's Sarcoma when she was only 15, talks about her experiences as part of the new 'Radio Therapy' project.
The 20-year-old student is one of eight young people taking part in the compelling six-part series which looks at the impact of a cancer diagnosis on mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Molly, said: "I know first hand the importance of maintaining positive mental health when faced with such a daunting diagnosis.
"It is for this reason that we’ve embarked on this project, and it’s incredible to see it come to fruition.
"I hope that the 'Radio Therapy' podcast can assist others in their struggles and make a positive contribution, enhancing awareness and understanding and providing avenues where help is available.”
Molly has raised an amazing £300,000 for the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow while battling cancer.
She has been recognised for her efforts, being named Gourock Rotary Club's Inverclyde Young Citizen of the Year in 2022 and a Greenock Telegraph community champion.
The new podcast aims to educate the public about the reality of being a young person with cancer.
It is recorded by Go Radio in Glasgow, ensuring a high-quality listening experience for audiences.
Julie Cain, Teenage Cancer Trust lead nurse for Scotland, brought the group of young people together to create the new series.
She said: "If it helps just one young person, it has fulfilled its purpose, expressing a collective desire for the resource they wish they had during their own challenging times."
Molly is also the co-founder of the charity Every Thank You Counts, which is dedicated to providing essential support to young patients and their families at the Royal Hospital for Children.
