THREE Inverclyde businesses have triumphed at a prestigious national awards ceremony by taking home top prizes. 

Reid Mackellar opticians in Greenock, Treasured gift shop in Gourock and Blessed Wellness Studio in Greenock topped their categories at the Scottish Independent Retail Awards. 

Reid Mackellar were named 'opticians of the year,' Treasured was given the 'craft and gift shop of the year' award and Blessed was declared 'bespoke retailer of the year'. 

All three saw off competition from numerous other businesses in their sector to be crowned the best at a special ceremony at Glasgow's Doubletree by Hilton. 

A spokesperson for the event said: "The Scottish Independent Retail Awards have always strived to recognise and celebrate the remarkable achievements of independent retailers.

"This year’s winners have exemplified excellence in their sectors and have played a pivotal role in enhancing Scotland’s retail industry. We want to congratulate all of our winners and highly commended recipients on their accomplishments.”
