COMMUNITY minded workers from an Inverclyde bus firm lent a helping hand to a team of volunteers committed to cleaning up the district.
McGill's colleagues joined members of the Literati Guide to Inverclyde to help give Parklea in Port Glasgow a springtime tidy.
The group gathered up bags of rubbish after the Greenock-based transport company donated a supply of high-vis vests to aid their efforts.
The group's Annette Thain said: “We are delighted at the interest we have received for our 'Big Clyde Beach Clean' initiative to clean up the length of the Inverclyde shoreline, as part of the 2024 spring clean campaign run by Keep Scotland Beautiful.
"Our launch event surpassed our expectations. We love that so many local groups and businesses, including McGill’s, have joined us to try and make a difference.
“All of our litter-picking teams across Inverclyde really appreciate the support that McGill’s has provided, from joining us at events, to kindly supplying us with Literati branded Hi-Viz vests which keep our volunteers visible and safe and will continue to do so for a long time to come.”
Alex Hornby, managing director of McGill’s, added: “The work that Literati Guide to Inverclyde does makes a genuine difference to the local community, and we’re delighted to be able to support them.
“Our team thoroughly enjoyed helping the hardworking volunteers, despite the rain, and were proud to play a small part in making Inverclyde cleaner.”
